Cristina Damas, APRN
Cristina was born in Orlando, Florida and raised in Miami. She attended high school at Our Lady of Lourdes Academy and went on to graduate from Boston College with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. While living in Boston, she discovered a passion for nursing and moved back to Miami to complete a one-year accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at the University of Miami. Always with a love for pediatrics, she was hired as a new graduate nurse in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, where she worked for 5 and a half years caring for infants, children and adolescents with congenital heart disease before and after they undergo open heart surgery. During her time there, she combined her nursing and psychology backgrounds and was part of a team that focused on the neurodevelopment of hospitalized children, ensuring they were supported in reaching developmental milestones.
In the midst of the pandemic, Cristina continued working as a nurse in the CICU while enrolled in the BSN to DNP Pediatric Primary Care Program at Florida International University and was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society. She is now a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
In her free time, she loves being by the water, traveling and enjoying moments with her husband, family and friends. She is excited to join the amazing team at Marimon Pediatrics and looks forward to watching the children in our community grow to be happy and healthy.
