Andrea was born and raised in Miami, FL and attended St. Theresa School and Our Lady of Lourdes Academy. She graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Family and Child Sciences and returned home to get her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from the University of Miami.
Upon graduation, she was accepted into the Horizon Nursing Residency Program at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital where she worked for 3.5 years in a respiratory medical surgical unit that specialized in the care of respiratory illnesses such as asthma, cystic fibrosis, pneumonia, RSV, and other viral illnesses.
During her tenure at Nicklaus Children’s, Andrea participated in unit and hospital-wide councils that implemented nursing-driven protocols. She is a Certified Pediatric Nurse which validates knowledge and expertise of pediatric nurses beyond basic RN licensure. Andrea is a recipient of the Daisy Award for Extraordinary Nurses, an internationally recognized award that honors nurses that provide excellent and compassionate care to their patients
In 2021, Andrea completed her Master’s of Science in Nursing from the University of Miami and was inducted as a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society.
In her spare time, Andrea enjoys traveling and exploring Miami’s diverse culinary scene.
